How To Know Christ

Ecclesiates 3:11 says that God 'has set eternity in the hearts of men.' As a result, despite our search, without a relationship with God, we will feel empty and unfulfilled because, there's a Christ shaped vacuum in us that only God can satisfy. Possessions won't fill it, nor will success, relationships, or even religion. Only through a vibrant relationship with God can this void be filled, but before such a relationship can be established, we need to face a serious problem.

Here’s what the Bible says about all of us:

"There is none righteous, not even one; There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God; All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does good, There is not even one." Romans 3:10-12

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

What is the penalty for our sin?

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

Jesus Christ is our only hope.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:16-18

Here’s how the Bible says one is saved:

1. "If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in Him will not be DISAPPOINTED." Romans 10:9-11

2. "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

Take God at His word. If you are sorry for your sin, accept God’s free gift and pray this prayer right now:

"DEAR GOD, PLEASE FORGIVE ME. I RECOGNIZE THAT I AM A SINNER AND I ACCEPT JESUS AS PAYMENT FOR MY SIN. I THANK CHRIST FOR DYING ON THE CROSS FOR MY SINS. I NOW RECEIVE HIM INTO MY LIFE AS MY SAVIOR AND LORD. I NEED YOUR HOLY SPIRIT TO TAKE CONTROL OF MY LIFE TO MAKE ME THE KIND OF PERSON YOU WANT ME TO BE. IN JESUS NAME I PRAY, AMEN."

If you have prayed this prayer, God wants you to grow in your new relationship. Here are some things that will help…

        1. Obtain an NIV translation of the Bible and read it every day starting with the Gospel of John.

2. Use verses that speak to you from your daily Bible reading as prayers to God.

3. Get involved in a Bible teaching church and get baptized. Contact me at RevBMiller@aol.com for more info.

4. When you sin, read 1 John 1:9.
